My older brother Jackson got a set of tools for his 5th birthday and pulled off my training wheels. He said "Just pedal fast and don't stop." I was 3 and immediately hooked. I started mountain biking in middle school and racing soon after, but Nordic Skiing took most of my athletic focus through high school. I skied NCAA Division I for Colby College all four years while getting my degree. Thankfully ski racing requires lots of cross-training, which allowed me to keep mountain biking and even jump in the occasional race in the summer. When I finished college, I moved out to Montana and pretty quickly turned my competitive energy towards mountain biking. 2021 was my first year training full time for mountain biking and racing in the UCI Elite Ranks.
